Why Choose Surrey Dyslexia Support?
Specialist Dyslexia Assessment in Surrey
I am a qualified teacher with over fifteen years of experience in education and specialist postgraduate training in dyslexia assessment and support. Through Surrey Dyslexia Support, I provide professional dyslexia assessments for children and young people across Surrey and surrounding areas. My practice is well established and trusted by families, with a 5-star Google rating.
Calm and Child-Friendly Assessment Environment
Most dyslexia assessments take place in my peaceful garden office in Chiddingfold, Surrey. This comfortable, homely environment helps children feel relaxed and confident, allowing them to complete the tasks required. Alternative locations may also be possible where needed.
Fully Qualified and Professionally Accredited
I am a member of the Dyslexia Guild and PraxisPro, and I hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC). This qualification allows me to carry out formal dyslexia assessments recognised by schools and examination boards. I regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to stay up to date with the latest research, guidance and assessment practices.
A Bespoke Assessment for Every Child
Every dyslexia assessment is tailored to your child’s individual needs. Before the assessment, we will discuss the best time, location and adjustments to help your child feel comfortable. This may include additional breaks or bringing a favourite fiddle toy. Assessment tests are carefully selected based on your child’s current areas of difficulty and learning profile.
Understanding of Related Learning Differences
Dyslexia can sometimes occur alongside other neurodevelopmental differences. I am experienced in recognising signs of ADHD, autism (ASD), developmental coordination disorder (dyspraxia) and developmental language disorder (DLD). Where appropriate, I can provide guidance and help families access further specialist support.
Clear Guidance for Parents and Schools
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed diagnostic report with practical recommendations to support your child at home and in school. My aim is to provide clear, supportive guidance so parents and schools can better understand and support each child’s learning needs.
“I would highly recommend Rebecca as a dyslexia assessor. They are friendly, welcoming, and incredibly professional throughout the entire process. Their supportive approach helps create a calm and positive environment, and their clear explanations make everything easy to understand. An excellent service from start to finish.”
